Hype Studies is an emergent, transdisciplinary research arena aimed to investigate hype as a powerful and pervasive phenomenon that influences economic trends, political agendas, media narratives, and technological developments.

We are a group of researchers and designers exploring hype as a force that acts in the world. Hype composes and directs attention, markets, politics, emotion, imagination, matter, knowledge, time, and space. Through the Hype Studies group, we share resources and organise events to collectively understand and intervene into the politics of hype.
