Hype Studies is editing an article series Tech Policy Press: a year-long exploration of how hype shapes technology, society, and power, edited by Andreu Belsunces and Jascha Bareis.

This series brings together diverse perspectives from scholars, activists, and researchers across multiple disciplines to interrogate hype from every angle: its role in finance, warfare, democracy, regulation, labor exploitation, and more.

Because hype is a global discussion we partner with interntenational venues for translations: in German with the JACOBIN, in Portuguese with JACOBINA BRAZIL, and in Spanish with EL SALTO. And also in Polish with Humanistyka.

Over the next twelve months, Andreu Belsunces Gonçalves and Jascha Bareis will edit monthly essays exploring different dimensions of tech hype, with contributions from Elke Schwarz; Marché Arends and Kathryn Cleary; Hannah Ruschemeier; Fabian Muniesa; Eugenia Stamboliev; Jack Stilgoe; Max Haiven; Sun-ha Hong; Emily Bender and Alex Hanna; Julie Freire Marques; and Vardaan Nayar.
